Appearing on the NPR broadcast, Fresh Air With Terry Gross has been, without question, the highlight of my writing career thus far. It aired one year after the release of my book, Speaking for Spot: Be the Advocate Your Dog Needs to Live a Happy, Healthy, Longer Life.
After taping the interview, I waited… and waited… and waited for it to be broadcast. When it didn’t play, I assumed it must not have passed muster. Imagine my surprise and elation when I learned that the interview had been postponed in order to play it during the show’s ratings week!
On the day of the broadcast, I booked myself out of work from 1:00-2:00, then sat in my car to listen — the setting in which I often enjoyed the show.
In case you’re wondering, Terry Gross is every bit as kind, engaging, and knowledgeable as she comes across on air. And her questions were more intriguing than any I’d answered in previous interviews.
It was a thrill of a lifetime!
Have a listen here, and enjoy.
It was a really great interview. I have to admit that I cried when you talked about when it is time to say goodbye. It never really does get any easier. I still miss my Sheltie, Tanner, a great deal.
